Künstler Chardonnay Sekt Brut

This sparkling wine, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, shows an intense ‘biscuity’ nose and flavour, due to its 7 year-long storage on its ‘lees’ and the wine underwent riddling (what the champagne houses in France call ‘remuage’, after bottling). The vineyard’s limestone soil, typical of the Hochheimer Herrenberg, gives the wine a delicate and fine minerality.

The name ‘Herrenberg’ has clerical origins, most likely linked to when the land passed into the ownership of the Archbishopric of Mainz in around 1273. It’s our most easterly location near the city of Hochheim, and very close to the River Main.

Residual Sugar 1.3 g/l
Acidity 4.9 g/l
Alcohol 12.0 %

A lovely sparkling wine to serve at social gatherings and events.

An ideal accompaniment to aperitifs, mild cheeses, such as young Gouda, Brie, Feta, Mozzarella and mild Cheddar. Perfect with starter salads with mild dressings. It’s also superb with shellfish in light creamy sauces – or simply on its own!
