Künstler Hochheim Hölle Riesling ‘GG’ VDP.Grosse Lage®

This is a remarkable pure and saline Riesling that is superbly concentrated, dense and intense on the palate with enormous depth and polish.

The name hell (Hölle) does not come from the hereafter, but derives from the old Middle High German word for a heap, in modern parlance it has the meaning of ‘steep mountain’.

This pure southern slope extends like a long belt directly on the banks of the Main. The approximately 50-year-old vines grow on very heavy clay soil, which gives the wines great character.

Drink through 2050.

Note: some of 2015 vintage currently available

Residual Sugar 5.6 g/l
Acidity 6.0 g/l
Alcohol 12.5 %

The Hölle vineyard produces rich and resonant wines, with a racy, mineral-rich acidity. Just fabulous with langoustines cooked with garlic and parsley. Perfect with pan-seared pork chops with apple sauce. Go Asian with pad thai fried noodles with either chicken or prawns. Or try with a seared escalope of veal with pfifferling (chanterelle) or morel mushrooms when in season.
