Weingut Stigler Winkeln Ihringen ‘Herrgottswinkel’ Riesling VDP.Grosse Lage

Elegant, with a nose that’s fruit-driven and a palate that balances this with fine minerality and a finish that’s satisfyingly long lasting.

The wine was produced in a single oak cask – Faβ 36 – from a very small site within the Ihringen Winklerberg vineyard, the Herrgottswinkel, or ‘God’s Little Eye’, owned by the Stigler Family, which is the source of particularly fine, even exceptional, wines.

This is a wine to be found at the very top of the VDP wine pyramid, ‘GG’ (Grosses Gewächs) is the highest quality category and this really is one of the best – and truly memorable – wines of the year!

An astute choice to accompany fine fish, oysters and shellfish. It also pairs well with simple dishes such as white meats, poultry, and egg-based dishes, including tarts and quiches, as well as soft cheeses. It also partners exceptionally well with Asian and Thai food.
