Passion and unconditional endeavour to make characterful, individualistic, top quality wines characterise the wines of Weingut Pfeffingen.
This makes what is a family operation, with a history of winemaking that stretches back over 250 years, truly special and one of the best wine estates in Germany.
Terroir is key and the vineyard sites, the best among them being the Weilberg and the Herrenberg, which rise up to the west of the estate, are protected by the Palatinate Forest and have soils with a particularly high lime content.
The location is ideal for growing fruity-mineral Rieslings, with another specialty being the highly aromatic Scheurebe, but the estate also produces elegant, colour-intensive ‘burgundy’ red wines.
Aromatic clarity, clean, juicy fruit and a strong but elegant body are the characteristics of the top wines of this estate.
